The Ghent University Hospital is a tertiary care facility with 1059 beds.
The Intensive Care Unit was founded in 1980, and has a total of 56 beds. The ICU admits around 4000 patients each year.
The department consists of 5 different units, in different locations:
- The SICU is located in the C wing of the K12 building, and has 22 beds in 3 units.
- The MICU has 14 beds and is located on the 12th floor of the B-wing.
- The cardiac surgery ICU has 8 beds. It is located in the same building on the 5th floor.
- The PICU has 6 beds.
- The Burn Unit has 6 beds
The administrative facilities are located on the second floor of the C wing. |
